This is the most detailed guide on how to start a micro niche blog on WordPress?
So, if you want to make a micro niche blog which:
Generate you a passive income.
Also, ranks fast on Google.
Then you should read this post till the end.
So, let’s get started.
What is a Micro Niche blog?
To properly understand, what is a micro niche blog?
You first have to understand what is a niche blog?
A niche blog is a blog that is based upon a specific topic.
For example, if your website is based on the keto diet.
Then on that website, you would cover topics like the keto diet for beginners, vegetarians, etc.
But think of a website that is solely based on one of the topics that I have mentioned above.
For example, in the keto niche, you can make a website only based on the keto diet for vegetarians.
And these types of blogs are known as micro niche blogs.
Why do we need to start a micro niche blog?
The first and foremost reason for starting a micro niche blog is that it ranks faster on Google than the niche blogs.
I would explain the reason for the faster ranking of micro niche blogs later in this post.
A micro niche website can help you earn a decent income within one year or less.
Whereas some niche sites fail to do so even after one year.
It is because in micro niche websites we target those long-tail topic-specific keywords which are conversion-friendly and have low search volume.
So, you can get more conversions in a lesser amount of traffic.
There are many examples of successful micro niche sites out there.
But two of my favorite micro niche sites are:
- Scabieshomeremedies.com (Based on a disease, scabies) by Bren.
- Laptopblogger (Based on laptops micro niche).
Here is a detailed case study video in Hindi of laptopblogger.com.
Are micro niche blog still profitable?
Yes, absolutely, micro-niche blogs are still profitable.
There are hundreds of micro niches which have low competition.
Thousands of micro niches are yet to discover.
Also, with technology innovation, new topics will come into play.
Which would generate thousands of micro niche ideas to start a blog on.
So, the future of micro niche blogging is still very bright.
Micro niche blog vs Niche Blog – Which is better?
There are two major differences between micro niche blogs and niche blogs.
First, a niche blog covers two or more than two topics within a niche.
For example, in a keto niche blog, you can write about two or more than two topics within the keto diet niche.
Whereas in a keto micro niche blog, you specifically have to cover only one topic related to the keto diet.
Along with that on a micro niche blog, you get highly qualified traffic, especially for conversions.
Whereas on a niche blog you won’t get that much conversion qualified traffic on your blog.
In today’s world if you want to earn a decent income from your blog fast then a micro niche blog is a great way of doing so.
But if you want to play a long game with your blog, then you can go for a niche one.
However, there is a middle way out, in which you first start a blog that is focussed on a micro niche.
But later on, you can expand it to make a branded niche site.

How to start a profitable micro niche blog?
It is super easy to create a micro niche blog.
You just have to follow the step-by-step process that I am going to tell you:
How to do micro niche research for free?
After planning your micro niche blog, you then have to find a profitable micro niche to target.
Here is how you can do profitable micro niche research for FREE!
Step 1: Find the SEED keyword
The first step of finding a profitable micro niche is to find the SEED keyword to target on your blog.
For example, if you want to make a micro niche blog on a gaming laptop, then “gaming laptop” is the SEED keyword.
Simply SEED keyword is the topic on which your micro niche blog is based.
Step 2: Find the keyword
Next, you have to find the keyword in your micro niche.
It helps you determine whether the micro niche is easy to target or not?
First, go to Google and type in your seed keyword.
But don’t click on “Enter”.
Google will itself give you long-tail keyword suggestions for FREE!
Then click on “Enter”, scroll down the SERP page, and at the bottom, you would “Related to” keywords.
They are the untapped long-tail variants of your SEED keyword.
Along with Google, you check the suggested keywords of other search engines, such as:
Step 3: Keyword Difficulty and Other Metrics
List all the keywords that you have found from the last step in Google Docs or Microsoft Word.
Pick the keyword, put it in ubersuggest (keyword research tool), and click “Enter”.
This tool will give you all the keyword metrics such as CPC, Keyword Volume, Difficulty, etc.
However, this doesn’t matter much in micro niche blogs as I have previously told that in micro niche blogs we target low volume keywords.
Also, different keyword research tools show different keyword data such as CPC, keyword volume, difficulty, etc.
But one thing you have to focus on is CPC (Cost per click).
In short, CPC is the price advertisers are giving to Google to get one click on their ad result.
And if advertisers are paying high CPC for a specific keyword to google, then the buyer intent of the keyword is high.
This means that the users which are searching on Google for that keyword are in a mood to buy some product or service.
Step 4: Analyze the SERP
Next, put the same keyword again on Google and analyze the SERP (Search Engine Ranking Position).
First thing, see if any Low DA (Domain Authority), PA (Page Authority) website is ranking in SERP for that keyword.
For this, download mozbar Chrome extension and activate it on your browser.
It will tell you the DA, PA, and Spam scores of the websites on the SERP page.
Next see if Reddit, Quora, Forum, or Pinterest is ranking in the top 10 for the keyword.
And last, check if the top 10 SERPs for the keyword have thin and low valued content.
So, if you find any of these, factor in the top 10 listings on Google for your keyword.
Then the keyword is of low competition and can be easily targeted on a brand-new blog.
Do the same process with 2 or 3 keywords in your micro niche and verify if the keywords of this have low competition.
If yes, then the micro niche has a lot of potential in it, and you can easily target it.
Step 5: Seasonality
It is very important to see if the micro niche you have chosen is easy to target or not.
But what more important is the seasonality of that niche.
The seasonality of the keyword decides whether the keyword is relevant for the whole year or in a specific month or year.
Now you would ask me.
“Nishant how can I find the seasonality of the keywords?”
Simple by using a free Google Tool known as Google Trends.
First, go to Google Trends and type your SEED keyword.
For example, I entered “Gaming Laptop” into the search bar in Google Trends.
It has a continuous popularity graph throughout the year.
This means that it is a non-seasonal keyword, which makes it a good micro niche.
However, if I type “Rain Coat” in Google trends, it gives this kind of graph.
You can see that its graph is discontinuous, which means that this niche is seasonal.
Which makes it a bad niche to target.
Step 6: Affiliate Potential
The last step to find a profitable micro niche for your blog is to see the affiliate potential of the micro niche.
For this, you have to go to Google and type in “micro niche + affiliate program”.
For example, I have searched “gaming laptop affiliate program” on Google.
You can see there are a lot of affiliate programs in the gaming niche.
Along with that, if you see any ad on the SERP page of your seed keyword, it also signifies that this niche has a huge buyer potential.
That’s why advertisers are bidding on it.

How to write SEO friendly content for micro niche blog?
Writing SEO friendly article is a must if you want to rank your blog on Google.
However, it is not very difficult to write SEO-friendly content for your micro niche blog.
Just follow the step that I am going to tell you in this section.
So, let’s dive into the first strategy:
Create an outline of your blog post
Creating an outline of your blog post is an easy way to write a unique blog post for your website.
I have recently started making a proper outline of my blog post, and it has increased my speed of writing a blog post.
If you want to know how to properly write a blog post, then I would recommend you to read this post by Ankit Bhai on how to write high-quality content.
Write a click worthy title for your blog
A click-worthy title is a very important aspect of a viral blog post, as it increases the organic CTR of your blog post.
If your website has a great title, then you would get more organic traffic without improving your SEO ranking.
Here are some tips to make a click-worthy title of your blog post:
- Use odd numbers. For example, “7 SEO tactics to rank your website higher on Google”.
- Hyphens and colons to improve CTR. For example, “How to rank your website on Google: A step-by-step guide”.
- Use brackets in title. For example, “Best SEO tools for WordPress website [Free and Paid]”.
- Use questions to spark curiosity. For example, “How to do on-page SEO for your blog”.
Use keywords in the starting and the end
Using your main keyword in your blog post a few time is very important.
But what’s more important is to use it at the start and the end of your blog post.
Here’s the reason:
First, Google analyzes the starting of your blog post and if its crawler gets the main keyword there, then Google will easily understand the topic of your blog.
Lastly, if you use your main keyword at the end, then it tells the Google crawler that this post has ended.
Adding your main keyword to the last of your blog post doesn’t matter much, but if you are a beginner, then every bit matters.
Use shorter URLs
Optimizing your blog URL for SEO is a very underrated way of improving the ranking of your website.
To optimize your URL for SEO, first, you have to add only one folder to your URL.
Next have to use a shorter permalink in your URL.
There are many reasons to use shorter permalinks, such as:
- First, it is SEO friendly.
- Second, it looks less spammy than a long URL.
- Last, it increases the direct traffic of your website as shorter URLs are easy to remember.
Also, Brian Dean from Backlinko has found the ranking between shorter URL and rankings on Google.
With the short permalink, you should include your main keyword in the permalink of your URL too.
Break the big chunks
Do you know the main reason why users don’t last long on your blog post?
It is because you try to write all the content of your blog post in a single paragraph.
If you use long paragraphs in your blog post, then the user easily gets bored with the content on your website and leaves it.
It reduces the time on site of your website and also increases the bounce rate.
Which can cause a ranking slip of your website.
So, the fix to this problem is to just break your big chunk of paragraphs into small one or two-line paragraphs.
Along with that, use your, and I tone in your blog post, so users would get easily engaged with your article.
Use a lot of subheadings
Another super way to stick the readers to your website is to break your whole blog post into various sections by using a lot of subheadings.
Use a lot of H2, H3, H4, H5, H6 heading a lot in your content, so your content becomes more readable.
But remember that, only use H1 one time as the main title of your blog post.
And you can use H2 to H6 headings many times in your content.
Use Bucket Brigades
Bucket brigades are some phrases that add curiosity in the readers to read the content further.
It is very effective if you want to increase the dwell time of your website.
You just have to add these bucket brigades to the part of your blog post where you find it boring.
Here are some commonly used bucket brigades that you can use:
- As if that’s not enough
- What does this mean for you?
- Best of all
- But wait, let me tell you something
- By now, you should
- In case you might be asking yourself
- Think about it:
- Let’s dive right in
Use Internal and External links
Both internal and external linking is an integral part of SEO, which you shouldn’t ignore.
First, let’s talk about internal linking, which is the process of linking one blog post to the other one.
One short and sweet hack to properly interlink your website is to add the link of your new blog post with the old one.
As old blog posts have much more authority than new ones.
Along with that, you should add the link of your low-ranking posts to higher-ranking ones.
As it would give a ranking boost to the lower-ranking posts of your website.
Along with that, you should also link relevant data and sources from other websites into your articles as well.
It will also give your website a bit of a ranking boost.
Use keywords in the content
Most of the SEO gurus out there say that adding keywords to your blog content doesn’t give your website a ranking boost.
However, that’s not fully true.
You should add your main keyword a few times in your article.
Just don’t go overboard using it.
Also, adding your main keyword a few times to your blog post tells Google about the topic of your blog and gives it a ranking boost.
Use LSI keywords
Using a single keyword a lot of times throughout the post can lead to “keyword stuffing” which can penalize your website from Google.
But there is a way to protect your website from it.
Using LSI keywords.
LSI keywords are similar or related keywords that you can use in your blog post to avoid keyword stuffing.
Along with that, LSI keywords also helps your blog post to rank for 1000s of keyword other than the keyword which you are going to target.
Update the content
One big mistake that new bloggers do is that they write a great piece of content but forgets to update it.
You have to understand that we all are human, and we can’t make an awesome piece of content at once.
We evolve and improve.
Along with that, updating an old piece of content has a great SEO advantage as well, such as:
- Updating the content tells the Google that your content is fresh.
- Also, it can make your content much better than your competitors.
However, I must tell you that this ranking boost would be a temporary one if the user doesn’t engage with your content.
And if they do, then Google will rank your website at that position permanently.
You can check out this article by Akshay Hallur on updating your old blog content.
Use a lot of original images, screenshots and infographics
There was a study by rebootonline in 2019 which tells that the websites with original pictures, screenshots tend to outrank those who use stock photos on their website.
They first created a lot of new websites for their experiment.
On some, they used original images and on others, they used stock photos.
And as I have previously told that real ones outranked the duplicate ones,
So, I would recommend not to use stock photos on your website much.
Especially for new ones because for them every bit counts.
Take your time to write content
One of the major problems with new bloggers is that they just want to write their blog posts and make them live.
And that is the reason why their content sucks!
Also, their website never ranks on Google.
So, take some time, make an outline of the topics you are going to cover in your article.
Take your time to fill each of the headings with subheadings and content, and then start making a blog post.
I know this might sound like a lot of work, but I guarantee you that the results would be fruitful.
So, that’s how you can properly write content for both search engines and humans for your micro niche blog.
Now, let’s jump on how to create backlinks for your micro niche blog.
How to make backlinks for micro niche blog?
There are several ways to make backlinks for niche blogs.
However, there are very few ways to make backlinks for a micro niche one.
But every coin has two sides.
As you don’t need many backlinks to rank your micro niche site.
But still, you have to focus on building links as it would protect your website’s ranking even if the niche becomes competitive.
So, let’s hop to the first backlink method for micro niche blogs:
Guest posting is one of the simplest ways to earn backlinks to your website.
In this method, you just have to write a blog post for other similar websites in your niche.
And in return, you get a link to your website there.
So, here’s the step-by-step method to do guest posting in the right way.
First, you have to find websites that accept guest posts in your niche.
So, to find it, you have to search on Google using these strings.
- Your Keyword “guest post”
- Your Keyword “write for us”
- Your Keyword “guest article”
- Your Keyword “guest post opportunities”
- Your Keyword “this is a guest post by”
- Your Keyword “contributing writer”
- Your Keyword “want to write for”
Next, you have to share a post of the website you want to write a guest post on.
Then you have to comment down on the post you have shared.
After that, send an email to the owner of that website according to this proven script by Brian Dean.
If the owner agrees on your topics, then you have to write your guest post according to the guest posting guidelines on that website.
After submitting your guest posting article, you’ll either get a do-follow link in the author bio or within the content.
The author box do-follow link doesn’t give you much traffic, however, it is also important if you are a beginner.
Here is a video if you want to know more about guest posting.
Social bookmarking is a way of sharing your blog content to social media platforms.
It is not a proper method of making backlinks to your website as you get a no-follow link on sharing your blog content to social media.
However, it exposes your website in front of Google crawler, as crawler regularly crawls these social media websites
Along with that, your website can also referral traffic from the link you have shared on social media.
The next technique is my favorite link-building strategy of all time but requires a lot of patience to execute.
To get backlinks from this strategy, you have to follow these steps:
First, you have to find a topic in your niche which hasn’t been discussed in detail.
Next, after finding the topics, you have to make a post that is 10x times better than the competitors.
- If the competitor’s blog post has some topic missing, add that topic in your post.
- Add video in your blog if it is not there in the competitor’s one.
- Add links to external website if the competitor’s doesn’t have in their blog post.
Lastly, promote that post like there is no tomorrow.
See this video to know this backlink technique in detail.
Broken link building
The last technique of making backlinks is broken link building.
To make backlinks with this technique, you first have to download the “Check my links” Chrome extension.
Then search for any similar keyword on Google related to the keyword on which you have written a post.
For example, if you have written a blog post about “Link Building”.
Then you can search for “Email Outreach” on Google.
It will give you a list of blogs to which you can ask for links.
But the conversion rate of this method is not that good.
So, you have to do something different from what other websites are doing.
Go to each website ranking on Google and then click on the “Check My Links” Chrome extension.
It will analyze each of the links in the blog post and will tell you if it contains a broken link or not.
If the blog has a broken link, then reach out to them saying that they have found broken links on their blog post.
And if they reply saying that they want to know about the broken links.
Then email them telling about the broken links and in that mail politely ask for linking to your recent post.
This method is super effective because you are not merely asking for links but also giving value to another person as well.
Which increases your chances of getting a link.
Micro niche blog promotion strategy
It is equally important to create engaging content for your blog as well as promote it.
Here are some platforms where you can share the link of your blog post:
Quora is a question and answer hub.
It is used to generate blog post ideas.
But most importantly, marketers use it to drive traffic and sales to their websites.
To properly drive traffic and sales from Quora, you have to follow this step-by-step process:
First, you have to complete your Quora profile because it gives the authentication that you are a genuine user of Quora.
Next, respond to other answers by commenting and upvoting them.
After that, you have to answer the questions in your niche in great detail.
To drive traffic to your website through Quora, you have to first answer some of your questions without any affiliate link or your website’s link.
And after some answers, you can add links to your website in answers.
But don’t put the link of your website in every of your answer because it can ban you from Quora or reduce the reach of your answers.
I recommend the 80:20 rule of answering the questions in which out of 10 answers you give links in 2 of them and 8 should be without any link.
But remember, in every answer you write on Quora, try to respond in great detail.

Points to keep in mind before starting a micro niche blog
Here are some points which you should consider before starting a micro niche blog:
First, the micro niche which you have picked should be relevant to create a blog post on.
For example, you shouldn’t make a micro niche on heart disease because it requires a doctor’s consultation.
And you can’t make a blog on it until you are not a doctor or a medical practitioner.
Along with the niche, you should also make backlinks on websites that are in a similar niche.
For example, a micro niche blog on a DSLR lens shouldn’t have backlinks from a health website.
It can hurt the SEO of your website.

Quality of content
I know that micro niche websites easily rank on Google, but it doesn’t mean that you can compromise on the quality of content on your micro niche blog.
You have to provide a good level of content even on your micro niche blog.
You first have to provide value to your audience, then you have to think about ways to monetize it.
Digging down in niche
I know that it becomes easier to rank on Google as you dig down more in a micro niche.
However, you shouldn’t dig too deep into a niche.
Let’s understand this with an example:
For example, you have made a website on PS4 controllers only.
It is not a good idea to do so because first, you won’t find much content on it which you can write on your blog.
Second, as you might know, that PS5 has recently launched which has made this niche obsolete.
Rather than only targeting PS4 controllers, you can make a website based only on controllers for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile.
In this way, you would have a lot to write in this niche.
Also, it won’t become obsolete after some time.

- Getting backlinks to your micro niche site is tough
Best ways to earn from a micro niche blog
There are many methods to monetize your micro niche blog.
But I personally monetize my micro niche blog with these three major monetization methods:
Many bloggers say that Amazon affiliate sites are now dead and there is no potential of getting decent earning from it.
It is due to the low commission rate that Amazon provides to its affiliates.
But if you want to earn a decent income through your micro niche blog then hands down Amazon affiliate is still the best.
To earn money from an Amazon affiliate, you have to first make your Amazon affiliate account for FREE.
Then complete all the steps and fill out the tax form.
Next, you have to select the product which you want to review and generate its affiliate link from the site stripe.
But before writing blogs on your micro niche website, just do a simple website setup.
Along with that, before promoting any product on Amazon, you should read the terms and conditions of Amazon affiliates.
Here is a video by Mrvyas on it:
Because in a micro niche blog you won’t get much traffic and earn a decent $$ from Google AdSense require a lot of traffic.
Yes, I know that you can get good money from AdSense with less traffic if you target high CPC keywords.
So, I would recommend you to target high CPC keywords on your micro niche blog as much as you can.
But I recommend you pair Google AdSense with the Amazon affiliate to double your income from the micro niche site.
If you don’t get the approval of Google AdSense on your micro niche blog, then you can use other ads like ezoic or media.net on your blog to get some extra bucks.
Selling your own stuff
This method of monetizing your blog is quite common in niche sites.
However, it is pretty effective to monetize your micro niche site as well.
You can make:
- Physical Products and a lot more.
The best part of this monetization method is that you don’t have to give commission to anyone for the products your audience are buying.
All the profits is yours.
Do’s and Don’t for micro niche blog
- Stick with the niche you are targeting. Don’t expand your niche, even if you are struggling with traffic.
- Share your article on every possible social media platform even if you don’t have followers
- Read all the terms and conditions of the affiliate program that you are promoting
- Give the user of your website a great experience first, then think of monetization
- Don’t create thin content as there is less competition in the niche. Just try to create as much in-depth content around the topic.
- Don’t put affiliate links and ads all over your website to earn a few bucks
