Marketing Guides

Bring useful work to the right people, then measure what happens next.

Marketing a blog starts with knowing which people need its work and how they already find information. Choose distribution channels that fit those readers and the format you can keep producing.

A useful article needs a next step. That might be reading a related guide, joining a newsletter, enquiring about a service, or choosing a product.

Choose a Distribution Habit

Pick a small number of channels you can maintain. Tailor the explanation to each channel instead of repeating the same announcement everywhere.

  • Use search to answer questions people already look for.
  • Use email for a relationship with readers who choose to subscribe.
  • Use social or community posts where they add a relevant answer.
  • Use partnerships when the audiences and reader benefit match.

Measure the Useful Action

Define the action before you judge the campaign. Visits, subscriptions, enquiries, and sales tell different stories.

Use affiliate recommendations only where the product fits the reader's need, and make the commercial relationship clear. Traffic that never serves a reader or a business goal can be expensive to maintain.
